WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO INVISALIGN®?
Invisalign® aligners are virtually invisible. No one may even notice that you’re wearing them, making them a seamless fit with your lifestyle. The aligners are removable, so you have the flexibility to eat and drink what you want during treatment.
You can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would, for fresh breath and good oral hygiene. There are no metal brackets or wires that could cause irritation to your mouth, an advantage over traditional braces. Plus, since your office visits during treatment don’t involve metal or wire adjustments, you’ll likely spend less time in the dentist’s chair.
Invisalign® allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you start so you can see how your straightened teeth will look when your treatment is complete. Instead of imagining how much better it can be, you’ll be able to see it for yourself.

How it works: The Invisalign® treatment process
CONSULTATION
At your consultation, your dentist will determine if you are eligible for Invisalign®. First, your dentist will examine your gum health and teeth. You need to have healthy gums and any cavities filled before starting treatment.
Your dentist will also discuss your smile goals and develop a treatment plan made just for you.
3D SCAN AND PHOTOS
Your dentist will then take a series of pictures of your face and mouth. Your dentist will also scan your teeth to create a 3D digital impression. Then the images and digital impression are sent to the Invisalign® laboratory to start the treatment planning process.
Once the treatment plan is finalized and approved, Invisalign® will begin to make your clear aligners.
DELIVERY AND FITTING
Once your aligners have arrived at your dentist’s office, you will be scheduled for fitting and delivery. Your dentist will check the first set of aligners to ensure proper fit and alignment.
If needed, they will add any engagers and complete any IPR. Your dentist will give you the first 6 sets of aligners and instructions for wearing your Invisalign® clear aligners.
WEARING YOUR CLEAR ALIGNERS
You’ll wear each set per the dentist’s instructions, usually for at least 22 hours each day, and switch them out every 2 weeks. Every 6 weeks, you’ll stop by your dentist’s office to pick up your next few sets of aligners and so the doctor can check your teeth to make sure they are moving as expected.
